"C. WILH. STEIN SOHN Manometer - Fabrik", Rödingsmarkt in Hamburg, around 1910

We found lots of interesting things in a book called "Die Firma" written by Mr. Friedrich-Karl Jacobsen in 1989.

We are building on the experience of the original measuring device company C. Wilh. Stein Sohn founded in Hamburg in 1887.
As long ago as the early 1960’s, C. Wilh. Stein Sohn pioneered unmanned ship’s operational engine monitoring systems and has since grown to become a leading manufacturer with more than 10,000 automation systems installed worldwide.

First measuring and warning system, around 1962

The last weeks have been a busy and exciting time for maresystems team due to forward-looking projects regarding our vista® next alarm, monitoring and control system.
Therefore we are very happy for the receipt of the type approval for our currently launched system by classification society DNV GL.

Maresystems will attend the leading international maritime SMM with a booth to present trend-setting solutions in the field of ship automation and maritime service.

Due to our high degree of innovation maresystems' participation will be supported by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Our Team is looking forward to the postponed SMM trade fair, which will now take place in Hamburg from February 2 to 5, 2021.

Since the ratification of the IMO Ballast Water Management (BWM) Convention, new-builds need treatment systems installed at delivery. Since September 2019, existing vessels will have to retrofit.

Also sulphur dioxide emissions have to be cut down, which leads to the installation of Scrubbers or the use of low sulphur fuels.

Integration of the Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) and Scrubber control into the Alarm and Monitoring System allows seamless operation and monitoring of the ballast system as a whole.

We offer the full integration or only alarm indication as well as the necessary modification of the existing process picture of Ballast Water Treatment System and Scrubber into your STEIN SOHN vista® automation system. The integration can either be realized as hardwired signals and/or as communication interfaces.

From now on we are able to offer you an upgrade for the existing visualization of your STEIN SOHN vista® automation system during which your workstations and the visualization software itself will be modernized.

In order to present you the generated value, we would like to walk you through the three consecutive upgrade steps:

  • First, we replace your old workstations with state-of-the-art computers to ensure enhanced performance.
  • Second, we use Windows 10 as the new operation system to be able to guarantee long term support and a maximally stable firmware environment.
  • Third, we implement your visualization in CitectSCADA, the newest possible software base.

This helps us to improve the redundancy handling on your ship and makes a total system failure even less likely than before.
